Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA
Favorite things to do in Pittsburgh: Go to Mt. Washington to watch the sunset and discover new places to get coffee and a croissant on a Sunday Monday – current favs include Madeleine’s, La Gourmandine, and Georgie’s Corner Café.
Favorite restaurant: Poulet Bleu, their massive chocolate souffle is to die for, and I think about it probably more times than is healthy in a week. I also finally got to try Pusadee’s Garden recently, and it was as amazing as everyone says.
Favorite place for take-out: Salem’s Market and Grill in Strip District for some feel-good homemade middle eastern food.
Favorite rotation so far: I am only on my second rotation so far, but I really enjoyed my family planning rotation because it was the most eye-opening and emotionally provoking of any rotation I’ve had (both as a med student and now as a resident). It forced me to reflect on myself, my values, and beliefs; and allowed me to grow, not only as a person but also as a provider.
Post-residency plans: Currently undecided, check back in a year or so. But I am currently leaning toward being a generalist.
What’s your favorite thing about Pittsburgh/Magee: How incredibly supportive everyone has been, everyone is constantly checking in on you, helping you, and encouraging you.
